BGC Arts webinar explores role of K-Dramas in shaping culture Nov. 6-7

The BGC Arts Center will be hosting on its Facebook page a two-day free webinar from November 6 to 7 on “The Role Of K-Dramas in Sharing and Shaping Culture Beyond Borders.”

The webinar is a collaboration of the BGC Arts Center with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, the Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines (KCC), and MIND S-Cool.


The speakers include Korean filmmakers and writers behind K-Dramas such as "Endless Love: Winter Sonata," "Fight for My Way," "Record of Youth," "KAIST," among others.


Among the Korean speakers are:

  • Lee Young Hoon, Chief, Korean Creative Content Agency Broadcasting Industry Team;

  • Kim Hee Yeol, Vice Chairman, Korean Drama Production Association (worked on K-Dramas such as "Winter Sonata" and "Record of Youth"), and

  • Kim Yoon Young, Scriptwriter and Executive Director of Korea TV and Radio Writers Association (worked on "KAIST").



Two renowned Filipino filmmakers will also be speaking during the webinar:

  • Laurice Guillen, film, TV, and theater actress and director, and

  • Jose Javier Reyes, film director, writer, and producer.

The webinar can be viewed on the BGC Arts Center Facebook Page and the YouTube channel of the Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines.
